Act in the Paraguayan Academy of History

In the "VI Student Academies of History Day ", organized by the Paraguayan Academy of History, our students Patricia Paez and Ma. Sol Quiróz, presented interesting researches that they developed during scholar year in the AHSIL, advised by Teachers Anahí Soto and Paola Mineur, with the support of the Educational Coordinator, Adriana Lovera. Patricia presented: "Origins and evolution of the distribution of land in Paraguay" and was highly praised for selecting a very complex and current problematic. Meanwhile, Ma Sol presented: "Don Cayo Mendoza Rivas: the Chaco War in the ink of mita'i" an emotional compilation of the testimony of a veteran of the Chaco War. We encourage all students, members of the AHSIL, to continue researching and learning together about our beloved Paraguay.

Spelling Bee

The second SIL Elementary Level Spelling Bee competition took place on October 14th and 16th, for grades 1st through 6th. The Spelling Bee is designed to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn language concepts, and develop correct English usage.

SIL Debate Club

The SIL Debate Club was initiated this year as a workshop to develop the capacities of critical analysis, fluency, body posture and gesture. Students from the 7th grade to the 3rd course participated, and they had the opportunity to participate in three intercollegiate debates, obtaining 2nd place at the SEK school and 2nd place in two categories at the American School of Asuncion. These activities greatly strengthen one of the fundamental pillars of SIL, bilingual education. We congratulate our students for the great effort which they displayed in these competitions, which were so important for their personal development.

Business Dinner

The Business Dinner is an activity realized within the Vocational Orientation Project with the students of the third courses. This is a meeting which encourages the student to choose the career of his or her preference, based on the information t hey receive from a professional in the field and the answers this person gives to the questions and concerns the student has about the entrance requirements, the studying involved, and the employment possibilities which the career offers.

Academy of History - New authorities

During the "solemn ceremony of the flag", the General Director Patricia Bonifazi de Mut swore in the new authorities of the SIL Academy of History “Alfredo Seiferheld”, whom officially assumed their positions. They are: • President: Adrián Sánchez • Vice President: Gabriel Medina • Secretary: María Sol Quiroz • Treasurer: Fiorella López The academics pledged to fulfill their duties to the utmost, ensuring at all times that the goals with which the AHSIL was founded with in the year 2006 would be met, which are: deepening and discussing different topics of our Paraguayan history and world history through meetings, assemblies, activities, tasks, and research.

Journey to San Cosme

The members of the ASTROSIL club, with fathers, mothers, grandmothers, brothers and sisters made a trip to the twon of San Cosme y Damián where one of the largest telescopes in Paraguay is found. They were joined by the teachers: Leticia Ruiz Díaz, Silvia Estévez and Mercedes Latourrette.
