We applaud our Debate Club members, who got the First Place in the Expert category, and Third Place in the Novice category in the SEK Debate Tournament of 2019. Our students stood out among students of CEL, ASA, SEK, SOL, Inter. Our winners in the Expert category are: Carlos Goralewski, Agostina Bonzi, Panambi Pavia, Cecilia Cardozo, and Juan Matías O'Hara, and our winners in the Novice category are: Joaquin Villasanti, Luanna Grutter, Panambí Ramírez, Facundo Flecha, and Ian Cuentas. Accompanied by their parents and godparents, our 4th Grade students celebrated the Sacrament of First Communion, at the “Capellanía del Migrante” Chapel. The students received Eucharist Jesus with great joy, after being prepared for this moment by the Pastoral Department of our School. On Tuesday September 10th, the 12th grade students attended a Business Banquet, as part of their Vocational Orientation project.
The activity was held at the La Roca Restaurant and students were accompanied by professionals from different fields, all of them SIL Alumni, who shared their experience on their choice of career and technical training. It was a pleasant and productive gathering, in a warm and distended ambience which strengthens the SIL Family institutional identify and sense of belonging. The 10th grade student visited the Preschool level of the Nuestra Señora de la Asunción School. They took games, which they created themselves, as well as snacks to share with the students. They also prepared a puppet show to teach the children how to correctly brush their teeth. Both the kids and our students had a great time! Read more
Our SIL Emprende was a huge success! In this project our students open up a small company and develop incredible and unique products which are sold in a very original way. This experience greatly strengthens a fundamental pillar of SIL´s educational program: leadership and entrepreneurship. We are proud of the work done by our students and teachers. Congratulations! Students in 10th and 11th Grade participated in the Panel Discussion “Challenges of Migration.” The objective of this activity was for students to understand the reality and challenges that immigration faces nowadays. Mr. Erick Malpica of Colombia, Mr. Daniel Villamizar of Venezuela, and the spouses Mrs. Szachy García and Mr. Walter Castellón of Nicaragua, shared their testimonies with the audience. This activity is part of the SILMUN Project, which will take place soon. Read more
Elementary level students were visited by artisans from Tobatí and Pirayú, who taught them techniques in the elaboration of ceramic objects and the making of Ñandutí. The objectives of the visits were for students to value our artistic manifestations, to appreciate our artisans, and to recognize that through them and their productions our country is seen as one of the richest in terms of Folklore.
