Act of Consecration and Entrustment to Mary

As the Virgin Mary´s month is coming to an end, this week our students in grades 1st through 6th will be participating in the Act of Consecration and Entrustment to Mary. This celebration is an act by which a person is voluntarily dedicated to the sacred service of God´s Mother and Our Mother, as a way of reaching Jesus Christ, our Saviour, through Her.

Spelling Bee

We have concluded the first edition of the 2014 Spelling Bee, with the participation of students in grades 1st through 6th. As part of the Language Arts program, this activity is designed to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn language concepts, and develop correct English usage. Lecture on Drugs

Always seeking to strengthen the overall growth of our students, in the 3rd. Cycle and the Middle School, a cycle of Talks About Drugs has been initiated about the dangers and damage that it causes to those who consume them. This time, our students have had the honor of listening to the lecture of Mr. Benni Ortiz, head of the DEA office in Paraguay. Mr. Ortiz has traveled to almost every country in South America and Central America giving talks to young students.

SIL Intercolegial 2014

With a large participation of students from over 30 schools and sponsorship of renowned brands, the SIL Intercolegial 2014 has come to a close. During the competition we saw students participate in different sports, which included football, volleyball, basketball and handball, among others.

My Funny Bunny

Within the research project "My Funny Bunny", our students from 9th. Grades A and B have been working on Science and Health subject, with rabbits we have in the SIL Orchard & Farm. During the work process they have learned about management, production & breeding rabbits, among others. In addition, and complementing their classroom formation and their experiences at the Farm, they could hear the talk of the Dr. Lilian Chamorro, a former SIL student, which speak about worming and diseases of rabbits, as well as nutritional and vitamin supplements . These studies greatly strengthen one of the fundamental pillars of the SIL, the Technical and Scientific Education.

Health Care Presentation

4th Grade Students attended the "Health Care Presentation" held by Mr. Carlos Verón, BA, Operation Smile Regional Supervisor. Dental Care, Hand Washing, and Nutrition were some of the topics addressed during Mr. Verón's presentation. Students were very motivated and willing to participate at all times with questions and comments.

Social Studies project: "Ways to represent Earth"

Fourth Grade "A" students did an excellent job preparing and participating in the Social Studies project: "Ways to represent Earth". They showed their creativity during the oral presentation by sharing world globes, maps, and other materials they made in class and brought from their own homes. The students were very motivated and showed their best effort during the project! Congratulations to all of them!
