SIL EMPRENDE 2016 was a resounding success; a project through which our students created a micro-business and elaborated incredible and unique products, which they placed on sale in a very original manner. This experience fortifies in an important fashion Education in Leadership and Entrepreneurship, a fundamental pillar of the SIL education. We are filled with pride by the work of our students and teachers. Congratulations!

We spent some fantastic days during the international gathering of parents and students, where parents and students of San Ignacio Recalde of Peru and Craighouse school, among other schools from Chile. The values of social security are grounded in solidarity, respect and fairness. With the ParlaSIL project our students have significantly experienced the role of a parliamentarian, as well as the current reality of social security in Paraguay. The simulacrum of a parliamentary session was successful carried out in the Bicameral Room of the Congress. Congratulations to our future legislators!

The students learned to identify the characteristics of the legal bill as well as to detect the indicators of illegal or counterfeit bills. They were able to experiment with the differences between a false and genuine bill in groups of 2 or 3 students using an electronic detector. They learned about real cases of falsification of bills and those which were taken out of circulation such as the C series G. 50,000 bill. Additionally, they received advice and suggestions regarding the use of credit cards.
This subject has been of great educational value, not only for the sporting event of the interescolar, where many students are working as cashiers, whether at the gate or in the canteen, but also for their internship at the end of this year, where a student might been in charge of the cash box of the company. It was a valuable topic for their daily transactions as well. The students mentioned their appreciation of and preference for workshops in which they actively participate.
