Lab Experience: leafs

In this experiment, students compare a leaf submerged in water, under lamplight or in the dark to analyze the photosynthesis process through the production of oxygen. The bubbles observed are oxygen generated, showing that the plant is using light to create energy and releasing oxygen as a byproduct. In the chromatography experiment, the different pigments in the leaves of different colors will be analyzed to see the presence of chlorophyll. They also made observations and comparisons to determine which leaves are green up and green down.
