Citizens in Action

During the month of August students in grades 4th, 5th and 6th participated in the Citizens In Action Project that promotes effective participation in civic life exercising the rights and obligations of citizenship at local levels. Students are able to access information efficiently and effectively, evaluating information critically and competently and using information accurately and creatively for the problem at hand.

Some activities developed during the project include: a visit to the Municipality of Asunción to observe a City Council Meeting, election of Mayor and City Council members, and a Mock City Council Meeting in which students were able to present a variety of community issues which were debated during the meeting with great enthusiasm.
